George Snell, head of content innovation + integration at 360PR+, remarked that Clubhouse is making a huge splash with audio in a recent PR Club event. This is particularly true because we’ve all been working from home this past year.
Do you think audio is in Facebook’s future?
“Queen of Facebook” Mari Smith replied, “100% yes!” She continued on to say that on April 19, Zuckerberg announced live testing for a suite of new audio creation tools. One is a short form audio clip titled, “Soundbites.”
This Clubhouse clone is the first of several new features for the platform.
Facebook is also beginning to test “Live Audio Rooms” in Groups, reaching Groups’ 1.8 billion monthly users. Once live, these “Live Audio Rooms” will be available across both Facebook and Messenger.
Both “Soundbites and “Live Audio Rooms” will launch this summer. Zuckberg remarked Facebook advances in AI have dramatically improved audio quality. With sound effects, voice effects & filters, and the ability to mix audio files, Facebook will offer users a compelling new way to communicate on social.
What’s up next for marketers to consider? Audio ads!
