Briefly summarize your background. What kind of industry/clients do you work with?

I am a former Boston Globe staff reporter who served as deputy press secretary to Boston Mayor Thomas M. Menino and was working through some of the most difficult and unprecedented times in Boston’s history including the 2013 Boston Marathon Bombing. I started my own agency in 2013 and employ over a dozen amazing pros in our offices north and south of Boston. We specialize in police, fire, public schools, public health and municipal government.

Describe what you do for PR Club.

I am on the membership committee and am always pushing for more student involvement!

Name your top three favorite things about PR.

  • I enjoy helping a client manage their way through a crisis.
  • I love helping a client tell their story (or their side of a story!)
  • I enjoy the results of a successful media relations campaign.

Do you have a childhood moment when everyone knew you’d be a communications specialist?

I started a video game review website in 1997, when I was 13. I’ve had the bug as far back as I remember.

What is your top getaway destination?

#1 on the list right now is Italy!

If you could take a client to any restaurant in Boston where would you go?

Armani Cafe in 2004. Cottonwood Cafe in 2006. Night Market in 2015. Sigh.

Go to Dunks order?

Large iced black.
