Broadcast or Bust – NBC Boston Studio Tour Recap

Summer is (finally) almost here! For the Pub Club, that means a brief hiatus from programming. To close out the 2017-2018 season with a bang, we added a bit of celebrity to our most recent event, taking part in a studio tour of NBC Boston hosted by reporter Glenn Marshall!

Fourteen local PR pros took the trip out to the station’s Newton studio, which also houses NECN and Telemundo Boston for an in-depth tour of the studio, which included watching a live broadcast from the floor and the control room, a tour of the news desks and editing rooms and behind-the-scenes access to anchors, reporters and the studio’s longest-standing employee, weatherman Tim Kelley. We were given insider access to the broadcast world and learned about about pitch tactics, story interests, crazy news hours and – the biggest secret of them all – that even reporters and weathermen don’t like seeing themselves on TV. Check out some highlights below!

Keep an eye out for the great programs we have lined up for the 2018-2019 season, kicking off in September by following us on Twitter at @PubClubofNE.
